Broken Block

A concept piece for one of those "story in my head" things. This is part of an ancient mountainside city whose inhabitants fled during a prolonged slave rebellion. Although the city wasn't touched during the war, it was close enough to battlefields that none of the people who lived here returned, and after a couple of generations the city was forgotten. Over the centuries since, nature has broken down much of what once was there, but there are sections that remain intact enough to get a clear idea of what the city might once have looked like.
I added the mist effect because I thought it might look cool (and I kinda think it does) but it also washed out quite a bit of the texture on the stone walls, street and rubble. I'll probably end up trying more images like this one with a greater emphasis on the textures sometime later.
